We use your dead as vessels

 In Dark City the Strangers explain and we see that they are aliens possessing the bodies of dead white men lol. But the theme of strange movements, awkward posture for a person, rearranging our memories and experimenting on us in more than one way, one might think of aspects of the grand over-arching conspiracy theories, zombies, alien abduction and or the M.I.B. As per usual in the paranormal social zeitgeist we've seen several fictional portrayals of this odd and creepy type of being, but Dark City and its relationship with the many themes of the alien abduction phenomenon takes the cake. Shows about grand overarching conspiracies such as the X-Files and Fringe tackle the idea, and a similar trope to the Strangers is Grant Morrisson's Tailors Of Time, characters briefly shown in Seven Soldiers. 

Sadly, unlike its comic book source material, the MIB films do not reflect the reports from which people in the UFO field build their understanding of the MIB. I'm not making some numb minded point about Will Smith not looking like a gaunt unfed dead white dude, but rather the entire idea that the MIB are secret government agents simply trained to intimidate or frighten and confuse their true agency or branch of government or military rank and threaten UFO witnesses is only correct in so far as they do frighten and terrify and threaten those unlucky enough to cross their paths but they seem quite far from human, at least  unfamiliar with normal human behavior and our designs and tools and ideas are actually very foreign to them and they for the most part manage to make this obvious despite efforts to play it off and roughly seem like some obscure government agents. 

Another tale very similar to Dark City but expanded into ideas such as Disney World, Stepford Wives, advanced A.I., the singularity and machines with feelings, ideas in the Animatrix sobering parable, the Renaissance series, is the series Westworld. This show has its own Man In Black and its double film origins of inspiration, played by the Director of another world constructed for human entertainment, The Truman Show, where he (Ed Harris) plays the pretentious director seated in the moon of Truman's World (The Show's Set)

Westworld is also a Dark City, Truman Show, Stepford Wives, type concept and explores  aspects of A.I. , a Singularity, fake lives, and tested humanity, and a Saturn Machine Moloch type idea at the same time. Ed Harris is the Director of Jim Carrey's life, something he does from a giant moon prop built high above Truman's world, Ed also plays the Man In Black in Westworld.

World On A Wire is a film that demonstrates simulation theory years, decades even before the technological theory was invented.

The MIB impresses conspiracy aware readers as an animated series more than the films ever could, one episode showing a version of the world machine or saturn machine like in Dark City and Mys-Tech comics, but in the form of the UN and it's use of technology to fake an alien invasion something Von Braun told Carol Rosin on his deathbed, something demonstrated similarly in TMNT Season 9, a false flag alien invasion in animated series C.O.P.S., Inspector Gadget, Roswell: the animated series, etc...

A microcosm of the macrocosmic Saturn machine used by the Strangers to tune differences into the waking night world above. This theme may have been invented by Fritz Lang in Metropolis 1927, where worship and sacrifice to the Canaanite god Moloch keeps the city running. Metropolis also confront some of the ideas Joseph Farell brings up in his mystical and mythological analysis of themes both ancient and cutting-edge technological concepts in Transcendence. Where alchemy is the motivation of technological progress not simply the demands of capitalism at a given moment.

From these concepts Liv Boeree articulates that game theory shows modern day social media interaction and danger revolves around an identical concept to Moloch worship, on Lex Fridman Aug 24, or the clip called 

Pink Floyd has an album called the Machine, some of the art for this album includes a faceless man in a suit and a (Saturn) machine seemingly representing a system or systems

Many people who report sleep paralysis interactions commonly  report a shadow man in a suit, dak figures in fedoras, and sinister grinning men with similar suits and hats as well.

I also found a group of archonic ancient dark magicians in the Marvel UK Universe revolving around once Transformers character turned 90's badass Death's Head, and Angel, against a voodoo Earth using o underground Saturn Machine using occult group that also blends magick and technology seamlessly like the Stranger to control the surface world above.
